I was surprised by how many of her rooms I have pinned or saved to inspiration folders, without knowing who was the clever talent behind them. Now I know and I have pored over her lovely portfolio in detail.
Anne is a New York native, who now works in Canada for clients across the US, and whose style is one of those that I love, and that instantly makes me feel comfortable and relaxed looking at her rooms. There are many designers whose work I love, but those that I am most drawn to are the ones who design homes I can imagine myself living in. While I adore designers like Mary McDonald, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Miles Redd to name a few, their work is very sophisticated, elegant, highly designed, and not really suitable or practical for a young family living in the burbs of Sydney.
Anne is just one of those designers I can relate to. It's not pretentious, or over-designed or too fancy for family life but it's still exudes style and a relaxed elegance. Her design style is rather like LeeAnn Thornton - liveable, casual, classic, approachable but effortlessly stylish and with always a little surprise or quirk that makes you take notice.
Here's some of her lovely work, some of my favourites. There are plenty more on her website portfolio here. Plus she has a blog which you can find on her site.

Hope you're enjoying your Australia Day long weekend here in Oz, despite the dreadful weather and threat of floods in many states. Talk about extremes of weather in this country. One week we're evacuating with the danger of bushfires and the next week it's tornadoes and cyclones! Plus school goes back this week, can't say I'm not ready for that!

Melinda you described Anne Hepfer's work perfectly!

Love designers who know how to use blue really well. Thanks for the info.
