Thank you all for your spirited and unanimous support and affirmation of this blog's name, Georgica Pond. So, despite my husband's persistent protests, it lives to see another day. I appreciate all your feedback and compliments and I'm glad you all see the appeal of the name as much as I did when I chose it.
Now, if you had an unlimited budget and you could pick any designer to design your home, who would you choose? As you can expect, I go through fads and when I discover a new designer I think "Oooh, now she/he's my new go-to designer, that's who I'd have and who would solve all my decorating problems", but whenever I think about creating a lovely, enduring, liveable, classic, casual, welcoming, comfortable, elegant home, I usually go back to my old favourites such as Phoebe Howard, Lee Ann Thornton, Mabley Handler and the like.
But now I have another favourite to add to my list in case my husband ever says, "Let's just get the bloody house finished once and for all - here's a cheque to spend on hiring your dream designer and whatever items you need to get this project done!". Not bloody likely!
Lynn Morgan, is a designer from Connecticut whose work you would be familiar with from magazine pages, blogs and websites worldwide. She has long been on my favourite designer list, but I recently revisited her portfolio and feel in love with her work all over again.
Lynn's work manages to encompass the spectrum from boldest black and white, and monochromatic schemes to the softest of pastels, the brightest of blues and the most colourful mix of solids, mixing traditional with contemporary with particular flair.
Here's some of my favourites from her portfolio here. There's something for everyone.

Which designer would you have to design your home if money were no object?

Lynn is a wonderful designer and a lovely person. I recently visited Kensett, the new condo complex she designed - you include quite a few shots of it here. It's fabulous, especially the kitchen with the tall ceilings and RH stools.
