Easter Craft Part 1

One of the reasons I am keen to get this house is finished, is so I can concentrate on some of my other passions such as craft. In my former life as a stylist I used to do a lot of craft stories for magazines, and get to release my creative and artistic juices regularly. Since kids and a life of domestic bliss (!) I haven't had the opportunity to do it and I really miss it. I was at Spotlight and Lincraft today looking at curtain rods and the craft section just kept beckoning me over, all those ribbons, beads, papers and tools are just too tempting to refuse.

So I am determined to come up with some craft inspiration for Easter, although given it's next week I'm not sure how far I'll get! Particularly as I have spent much of this week at hospital visiting my sick Dad. But I want to think about something other than curtains and lamps for one minute!

I trawled back a few years and found some things I did for Better Homes & Gardens and The Australian Women's Weekly a few years back, just to get me in the craft mood. Watch this space.....

  5. Melinda - what talent you have! If you do end up doing some crafts this weekend, would you mind sending some over Stateside as I'm off on holiday with the kiddos and haven't even thought of Easter! Hope your Dad is feeling better.

  8. Just side-stepping slightly from your lovely self confessed digression... did you have any success finding curtain poles that don't look cheap and nasty? I'm at my wits end and can't believe that Laura Ashley that has such great ones in the UK don't seem to stock anything unless you're paying them to make your curtains here, and nowhere seems to have anything remotely as lovely as those at Restoration hardware???!!! Surely somewhere must have something????

    1. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you re this - only just resurfaced after all the drama of my Dad's health. I have found some really good, solid and quality looking rods over the years at Spotlight believe it or not. They have a couple of sizes, and extendable ones too and I have just bought some for home. They are about as simple and classic as you'll find around and very reasonable.
