California Beach House

TIme for something beautiful. I found this lovely beach house in La Jolla, California on a great blog I follow called Belcaire House and thought I must show you. I think it's a beautiful, classic, comfortable home and shows that despite being right on the beach, you don't have to be a slave to typical beachy decorating style, and can still elude to the beach lifestyle with the right colour palette, furnishings and decorative touches. Enjoy the tour.

This is my dream home, all blue, white, sea green and aqua with lots of lovely white timber and marble, sophisticated and elegant, yet comfortable and homely and right smack bang on the beach. I couldn't ask for more! It sold for a mere $3m in 2004. Couldn't get anything like that in Sydney with that view for less than $10m.

PS A friend mentioned she hadn't received any post updates since Oct 4 so I wondered if anybody else had experienced this problem. If so, please let me know and I'll try to get to the bottom of it.

  4. I love the beach house - especially the black vanity and the oversized carriage light in the first picture (always obsessing about lighting!). I think the cabana is going to look amazinglove the cabana already , wonder if I can talk my husband into one?!

  5. The decking is HUGE - I bet you will practically live there when it is all done. And a pool cabana is such a charming idea! Looking gorgeous.

  6. What a stunning home. The aquas and whites are just superb. I don't know how that home would go if there were kiddos involved though.
