A Perfect Match and Amy Atlas

I went to the Sydney ABCD Meeting on Thursday night which was a great opportunity to meet some other creative, crafty, designer bloggers from around Sydney. Thanks to the lovely Steph from Bondville for all her efforts in making it a terrific night. Everyone contributed wonderful things to the goodie bag and I was at a loss as to what to add. I then remembered the lovely company branded boxes of matches I saw all around the place in interiors shops in NY and LA and thought I'd make my own version. Slightly trickier than I anticipated, and not sure how user friendly they are, but looked quite cute. It was a bit manic, rushed and stressful trying to make 30 of them up with my 2 yr old trying to help and grabbing glue, scissors, craft knife, paper, string and ribbon off the table every 5 seconds. I really want a craft room!

Selected the pretty matching papers in the Georgica Pond colours
Bought all the extra long matches I could get at two Coles
Cut the strip of paper and added quick drying craft glue

Then realised the red strike plate wasn't going to match my blue paper
So instead of trimming it off, I kept it long so it could wrap around and cover it up.
Made up some luggage tags on the computer and printed out. Added the little rings.

Tied with matching ribbons and  voila!

Other exciting news is that Amy Atlas featured Poppy's party on her blog today. I was so thrilled and they created a lovely montage of the photos I sent in. Check it out here.

And finally...as we all go off for a long weekend - PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY. There have been 3 of the most horrific and tragic accidents this week involving toddlers. So please Mums and Dads, when reversing or driving around kids, you can never check too many times. Our little ones are too, too precious.

Have a lovely weekend.
