.....of weddings, I thought I might take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the special moments of our wedding in 2005. After watching the Royal Wedding last week and Kate in her breathtakingly beautiful wedding dress beaming with love and happiness, I want to do it all over again!
| My stunning dress was made of the most exquisite latte coloured embroidered lace over a soft silk satin. It was quite heavy with all the beading, and from the time it was finished to the wedding day it dropped about two inches. Mum had to do an emergency sewing job on the wedding day to take up the hem so I didn't trip down the aisle. |
| The ceremony was held at a charming country church in the historic town of Berrima, NSW. |
| The talented florist Julie Pilcher created my bouquet. I love the combinations of colours and flowers. |
| All the men looked very dapper in their morning coats, and my dad was no exception. |
| We hung swags of gum leaves from the pews. |
My sister was the perfect bridesmaid in a dress from Collette Dinnigan. The little
page boys looked so smart in their blue and beige outfits. |
| The reception was held at Centennial Vineyards in Bowral, NSW. |
| My old friend Tim made the wedding cake for us. |
| I designed the dress and had the most wonderful 80 year old dressmaker create it in under 6 weeks, as the original wedding dress designer I chose didn't have the skill to make what I wanted and I had to find an alternative with only weeks to go. |
| My favourite photo! Ain't love grand! |
I'm now trying to convince my husband of the merits of renewing our wedding vows - any excuse to wear that dress again!

You made a beautiful bride and your dress is stunning and understated elegance!!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through BC and Melinda you look stunning in your wedding dress. Sbtle, mute and yet graceful...I would have loved to walk the aisle but unlike yours, our weddings are color shocks and I'd prolly run away than wear red.
ReplyDeletePretty you are! And yes, love is grand.
Mel, what glorious photos of your special day! Divine divine divine. Look at you and yours sister - very Kate and Pippa! Steph x
